Job Description

Full job description \n

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)

\n

Full-Time | In-Person | Richmond, VA

\n

Salary: $140,000–$165,000 annually (based on outpatient psychiatric experience, autonomous practice status, and demonstrated clinical proficiency)

\n

\n

Neuropsychiatric & Counseling Associates is an established outpatient psychiatric practice seeking a compassionate, experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our collaborative team. This is a full-time, in-person position designed for a provider who values practicing thoughtful, evidence-based psychiatry while maintaining a manageable patient schedule and excellent work-life balance.

\n

Our practice prioritizes quality of care over high patient volume. Providers are supported with structured scheduling, dedicated administrative time, and an experienced clinical team, allowing them to focus on delivering exceptional psychiatric care.

\n

\n

Our Ideal Candidate

\n

We are seeking a provider who:

\n
    \n
  • Has experience providing outpatient psychiatric medication management.
  • \n
  • Is comfortable practicing independently while collaborating with colleagues as needed.
  • \n
  • Values building long-term therapeutic relationships with patients.
  • \n
  • Appreciates a structured outpatient schedule with dedicated administrative time.
  • \n
  • Is seeking a long-term professional home within a collaborative private practice.
  • \n
\n

Experienced providers are strongly preferred. New graduates will only be considered if they have significant prior psychiatric RN experience and clearly demonstrate readiness to independently manage an outpatient psychiatric caseload.

\n

\n

Position Highlights

\n
    \n
  • Competitive W-2 salary: $140,000–$165,000
  • \n
  • Sign-on and other bonus opportunities
  • \n

  • \n
  • No excessive productivity expectations
  • \n
\n

Benefits

    \n
  • 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance premiums —meaning your monthly health insurance premiums are fully paid by the practice, resulting in thousands of dollars in annual savings and more take-home pay compared to employers that require employee premium contributions.
  • \n
  • Childcare healthcare credits of up to $250 per child per month (maximum $500 per month)

  • \n
  • Virginia DEA registration
  • \n
  • Minimum of 2 years of independent outpatient psychiatric medication management experience required
  • \n
  • Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology and evidence-based psychiatric care
  • \n
\n

Preferred

\n
    \n
  • Autonomous practice status
  • \n
  • Experience treating diverse psychiatric conditions across the lifespan
  • \n
\n

\n

Schedule
