Retail & Fashion Merchandising Intern

Step into the world of luxury retail at Nemacolin, where fashion, merchandising, product discovery, and exceptional service come together to create compelling guest experiences. As a Retail & Fashion Merchandising Intern, you will gain hands-on exposure to both the creative and business sides of resort retail, from guest engagement and visual merchandising to buying, inventory, luxury jewelry, events, and specialty projects. This paid, 12-week internship places you alongside experienced Retail Team members in a Forbes- and AAA-rated luxury environment, giving you the opportunity to develop practical industry skills, explore career paths in merchandising, buying, marketing, and hospitality, and complete an experiential project connected to your academic or professional development goals.

Elevated shopping experiences as you engage with guests across multiple retail locations, build sophisticated product knowledge, and learn how thoughtful service and personalized recommendations shape luxury retail

Compelling product presentations as you contribute to visual merchandising initiatives and maintain polished, thoughtfully curated retail environments that encourage discovery

Informed product assortments as you gain exposure to vendor correspondence, product research, order follow-up, and buying activities that connect product strategy with guest preferences and retail performance

Accurate, organized inventory as you support receiving, product organization, inventory tracking, and product management while developing an understanding of how operational precision supports both the guest experience and business performance

Memorable retail events and brand experiences as you contribute to trunk shows, fashion shows, brand activations, and other special events designed to engage guests and showcase retail offerings

Broader luxury retail perspective through exposure to resort amenities, high-end jewelry, specialty retail initiatives, and projects that contribute to the continued development of the retail experience

Meaningful contributions to the retail operation through administrative support, departmental projects, and specialty initiatives that strengthen consistency, efficiency, and service

A tangible demonstration of your learning through an experiential project aligned with your academic or professional development objectives

A full-time, paid, 12-week internship with consecutive participation expected throughout the program

An immersive luxury hospitality environment where polished presentation, product knowledge, attention to detail, and personalized service shape the everyday retail experience

Exposure to the full retail lifecycle, allowing you to see how guest engagement, merchandising, buying, inventory, events, and business operations work together

Opportunities to learn alongside experienced Retail Team members and gain perspective on specialized career paths within luxury retail and hospitality

Hands-on experience balancing creative projects with operational responsibilities, giving you a broader understanding of the business behind a compelling retail experience

A dynamic environment where priorities can shift quickly and multiple responsibilities require organization, adaptability, sound judgment, and professional follow-through

Regular use of computer programs and communication tools to research products, manage information, communicate by telephone, and support daily retail operations

A schedule that may include varied shifts, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on resort operations

An experiential learning component that connects your academic requirements to real-world retail challenges and professional development

Genuine enthusiasm for fashion, retail, emerging trends, and the details that make a shopping experience feel distinctive

Curiosity about both the creative and business sides of luxury retail, with an eagerness to learn how product, presentation, guest preferences, and performance influence retail decisions

A polished, approachable presence and confidence communicating with guests, vendors, and colleagues in person and by telephone

Strong organizational instincts and the ability to manage competing priorities, details, and deadlines in a fast-paced resort environment

Initiative, personal drive, and a willingness to ask questions, accept feedback, and contribute beyond the minimum expectations of an internship

Pride in your work and a commitment to representing luxury retail with professionalism, consistency, and genuine care for the guest experience

High school diploma or equivalent required

Current second- or third-year student enrolled at an accredited college or university in merchandising, textile and apparel merchandising (TAM), marketing, or a related discipline, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5

Ability to multitask while communicating with guests or colleagues, navigating computer programs, and accurately entering information

Commitment to completing a consecutive 12-week, full-time internship as required by the intern rotation
